The warming of the atmosphere caused by the build up of "greenhouse" gases, wich allow the sunlight to heat the earth while absorbing the infrared radiation returnig to space, preventing thje heat from escaping. Excessive human emissions including carbon dioxide, methan and other gases contribute to climate change.
