The shareholders of the parent company Siemens Energy have now cleared the way for this at an extraordinary general meeting, according to a mandatory announcement by Siemens Energy. The withdrawal from the stock exchange is part of Siemens Energy's plans to stabilise its financially troubled subsidiary. The core of this is the complete takeover of the company. Up to now, Siemens Energy has held just under two-thirds of all shares in the wind turbine manufacturer based in the Spanish Basque Country. The remaining third, around 225 million shares, is to be acquired by the company for almost 4 billion euros. The Spanish authorities have already approved the transaction.

Despite full order books, Siemens Gamesa has been in the red for a long time. First the Covid pandemic put the supply chains of all wind turbine manufacturers under severe pressure, now manufacturers like Siemens Gamesa are suffering from increased raw material and production costs due to the energy crisis.
