The Danish police announced that the arrested persons are members of the board of directors and other employees. The name of the company was not disclosed. It was only said that it was active in trading electricity on the Nordic trading markets. There were strong suspicions that the employees had made illegal profits in the hundreds of millions through market manipulation. The arrests included house searches at various addresses in Aarhus and the surrounding area. A special police unit for economic crime had started the investigation after receiving a tip-off from the Danish regulatory authority. The police did not give further details about the accusations or about a possible amount of damage.
